Parent Workshops Series: Starting the School Year Off Right!
When: Part 1: Wednesday, September 28, 2016 6:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Foundry Building (Georgetown) 1050 30th Street NW Washington, D.C.
What: Joshua Faden, founder of Community of Teachers, and Dr. Christina Tripodi Mitchell, founder of The Child & Family Practice of Washington, DC, are excited to partner on an informative and interactive parent workshop series. The aim of this series is to provide parents with specific tips and strategies to support their child’s learning throughout the upcoming school year. This three-part presentation will cover the following topics:
Part 1- Learning Style (Wednesday, September 28) – How to identify your child’s learning style and promote strong study habits at home
Part 2- Executive Functioning (Wednesday, October 26) – How to help your child stay motivated and organized when it comes to school work
Part 3- Fostering Open Conversations and Building Confidence (Wednesday, November 30) - How to work with your student to best support them throughout the school year and keep the momentum going
Though this three-part series is designed to build on each previous topic, we understand that schedules can be prohibitive, and we welcome parents to attend the full series, any two evenings, or just the topic that they think their child could benefit from the most. The event is open to all parents in the Washington, DC metro area. Seating is limited, so we encourage you to purchase tickets in advance!
