And, why should we be working to instill it in ourselves and our children? In his books, Joshua says he thinks of confidence as three distinct components making up one incredible concept.
First, confidence involves self-efficacy—our belief in our ability to succeed in various situations—; second, confidence involves self-awareness—our ability to be objective evaluators of ourselves—; and third, confidence involves self-esteem—the feeling that arises within based upon our beliefs and in conjunction with our thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and actions.
When combined confidence is the belief in one’s self and their abilities to achieve their own goals, while monitoring their thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and actions on a regular basis to keep their confidence strong and their successes flowing!
